Whenever I say 'we are so lucky to live here' my husband growls at me that we aren't lucky, we worked damn hard to get here. And he is true, we did, but we are also very, very lucky...
Ross on Wye is a beautiful place, but then as the place where modern day tourism was born it would have to be. We have a lovely town with ancient Marketplace and of course the stunning River Wye which I feel is at its prettiest right here.
We have lived here now for 7 years and we have loved every minute of it. From where we live we can walk for 10 minutes in one direction and be in town, 10 minutes the other and be in the middle of nowhere, 10 minutes another and up on Chase Woods and 10 minutes the other way and on the banks of the River Wye. Not bad huh.
So we take every opportunity to enjoy it be it walking up in the hills, running by the river, canoeing, wild swimming, picking elderflower and blackberries, cycling the forest trails.
Don't take where you live for granted, there is beauty and wildlife everywhere so go on, walk from your front door every once in a while and rediscover where you live.
